Example call · illustrative scenario
What actually happens when you ring
No hold music maze, no "press 4 for lending". You explain the situation in your own words and a lending specialist asks the questions that matter. Here's how a typical first conversation runs.
Caller
Hi — the bank's just declined us. GST and PAYE are overdue, about $60,000 all up, and we've got a big job starting next month.
Hotline
Right, let's work through it. Is the business a company, and how long have you been trading?
Caller
Company, eight years. Two directors — me and my partner.
Hotline
Do either of you own property in New Zealand? It doesn't have to be mortgage-free.
Caller
Our house in Papakura. There's still a fair bit owing to the bank.
Hotline
That can open up options that don't rely on your accounts. Roughly what's it worth and what's owing? And is the bank decline about the tax, or something else?
Where it goes from here: the specialist explains the realistic routes — for example a second mortgage to clear IRD in one go, or an unsecured facility plus an IRD arrangement — what each involves, and exactly which documents to send. No credit check until you're ready.
Two lines of funding
Most calls end up on one of two lines
Which one fits depends on whether you have property to offer, how much you need and how fast.
Line A
Property-secured business loans
$20,000 to $1m, secured on NZ property you or a supporter own
Home, rental, commercial property or land — first or second mortgage
No financials or tax returns for the initial assessment
Bad credit, defaults and arrears considered case by case
Business purposes only. Sole traders, companies, partnerships and trusts can apply. Every loan is priced on your individual situation — we look for the sharpest option available for it.
Ask the Hotline
The questions people ring about, answered properly
Every answer opens with the short version, then explains the detail — and lists what a specialist will ask you on the call.
On the waterfront. On the phone to the whole country.
Our desk is at Level 8, 139 Quay Street, Auckland. Because we work by phone, where your business is doesn't matter — a builder in Invercargill gets the same conversation as a cafe on Ponsonby Road.

Before You Call
Five minutes of reading that makes the call twice as useful
A phone-first business funding service for New Zealand business owners. You ring or request a call back, a lending specialist talks through your situation, and we match you with a lending partner whose criteria fit — property-secured loans from $20,000 to $1m, or unsecured loans and lines of credit sized to your turnover.
Does calling or enquiring affect my credit score?
No. Enquiring is free, takes about 60 seconds and doesn't affect your credit score. A credit check only happens later, with your permission, when a specific lender assesses a formal application.
Do I need financial statements to get a business loan?
Not for the initial assessment of a property-secured loan. Unsecured loans and lines of credit are mainly assessed on turnover and recent business bank statements.
How fast can I get funding?
Unsecured decisions are sometimes made the same day. Property-secured loans can in some cases be funded within 24 hours of approval; the steps before approval depend on the property and how quickly documents are signed.
Can I get a business loan with bad credit?
Often, yes. Bad credit, defaults and arrears are considered case by case for property-secured loans, and some unsecured lenders consider weaker credit where recent trading is strong.
Who can apply?
Sole traders, companies, partnerships and trusts, for business purposes only. Unsecured funding is usually for businesses trading 6+ months; property-secured funding needs New Zealand property owned by the borrower or a supporting party.
A lending specialist will listen to what's going on and tell you straight what's realistic. Enquiring is free, takes about 60 seconds and doesn't affect your credit score.
