Who we are

The Business Loan Hotline ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Leadsource International Manager Limited (NZBN 9429047325371), Level 8, 139 Quay Street, Auckland 1010, New Zealand. We are responsible for personal information collected through businessloanhotline.co.nz and through calls to 09 875 4577.

What information we collect

We collect only what we need to help you with business funding. Depending on how you deal with us, this may include:

  • Contact details — your name, phone number, email address and the best time to call.
  • Business details — business name, NZBN, structure, industry, how long you've been trading, turnover and the funding you're looking for.
  • Financial and property information — for example bank statements, existing debts, IRD obligations and details of property you might offer as security.
  • Identity information — such as a driver licence or passport, where a lender needs to verify identity.
  • Call information — notes of our conversations, and call recordings where we tell you a call is being recorded.
  • Website information — technical data such as pages visited, device and browser type, collected through cookies and similar tools used for site performance and, where enabled, analytics.

We collect information directly from you wherever possible. With your authorisation, lending partners may also collect information about you from credit reporters, public registers (such as the Companies Office, PPSR and LINZ) and other parties relevant to assessing an application.

Why we collect it

We use personal information to:

  • call you back and talk through your business funding options;
  • work out which of our lending partners' criteria may fit your situation;
  • pass your details to a lending partner, with your agreement, so they can assess an application;
  • help an application through to settlement;
  • keep records of our dealings with you and meet our legal obligations;
  • improve our website and service.

We don't sell your personal information. We won't use it to market unrelated products to you. If you'd prefer we didn't contact you again, just tell us.

Who we share it with

We may share personal information with:

  • Lending partners on our panel, so they can assess and, if approved, provide funding;
  • Credit reporters, through a lending partner, when you authorise a credit check as part of a formal application;
  • Service providers who help us operate — for example, phone, form, hosting and CRM providers — under confidentiality obligations;
  • Professional advisers and, where required, regulators or law enforcement agencies, when the law requires or permits it.

Some of our service providers may store information outside New Zealand. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure the information is protected in a way comparable to the Privacy Act 2020.

Credit checks

Enquiring with the Hotline doesn't involve a credit check and doesn't affect your credit score. A credit check is carried out only by a lending partner, only when you've authorised it as part of a formal application. Credit reporting in New Zealand is governed by the Credit Reporting Privacy Code.

How we protect it

We take reasonable security safeguards to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, use, modification and disclosure. Access is limited to people who need it to do their job. We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or to meet legal requirements, then securely dispose of it.

If a privacy breach occurs that has caused, or is likely to cause, serious harm, we will notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and affected people as the Privacy Act 2020 requires.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses essential cookies and similar technologies to work properly. Where analytics are enabled, they help us understand how the site is used, in aggregate. You can control cookies through your browser settings. The application form on our call-back page is provided by a form service embedded on the page and is used only to pass your enquiry to us.

Your rights: access and correction

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it if you think it's wrong. To make a request, call us on 09 875 4577 or write to us at Level 8, 139 Quay Street, Auckland 1010. We'll respond within the timeframes set by the Act and may need to verify your identity first.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
